Work in progress: Metropolitan iconography, Urban saints of Charlois by Anastasia Tsaparoglou & Despina Papachristoudi

Urban saints of Charlois is a series of mixed media portraits of everyday people that live on the working class suburbs of Rotterdam depicted as saints or/and pop icons. The project will focus on the residents of Charlois area with the intention to expand in the future on similar multicultural and neglected suburbs of other European cities like Berlin and Athens. It is a collaboration between the designer/architect Anastasia Tsaparoglou (ex-Nac member from the Tacostraat collective) based in Denmark and the photographer/Nac member Despina Papachristoudi from the tacostraat collective. Soon more!
